Happy Gilmore 2 Reportedly in the Works
Christopher McDonald, known for his role as Shooter McGavin in the beloved comedy Happy Gilmore, recently revealed some exciting news about a potential sequel.
During an interview on Audacy’s 92.3, he shared that Adam Sandler had shown him a draft of the script for Happy Gilmore 2. McDonald expressed his enthusiasm to portray the character on screen again, acknowledging that fans have been eagerly anticipating a sequel.

While details about the potential sequel are still emerging, sources mentioned by Deadline suggest that if Happy Gilmore 2 moves forward, it would likely be produced for Netflix through Sandler and Happy Madison Productions.
This news comes 28 years after the original film first captivated audiences with its unique blend of humor and memorable characters.
“I saw Adam about two weeks ago, and he says to me, ‘McDonald, you’re gonna love this,’” he said. “I said, ‘What?’ He says, ‘How about that,’ and he shows me the first draft of Happy Gilmore 2.”
Happy Gilmore featured an array of talented actors including Julia Bowen, Kevin Nealon, Ben Stiller, and the late Carl Weathers. The film also included notable cameos, such as the legendary Bob Barker, who sadly passed away last year.

As work on Happy Gilmore 2 continues, it’s too early to predict when and where audiences will have the opportunity to enjoy the potential sequel.
McDonald’s revelation should have sparked optimism that we may see Happy and Shooter on screen again.
