First Look At The Last Of Us TV Series With New Set Photos.

First Look At The Last Of Us TV Series

The Last of Us TV show for HBO is currently in production, and now we have a look at the set that will bring the post-apocalyptic world of The Last Of Us.

New set photos show the series in action, and it paints a war-torn picture of Calgary in a world that has been made into a wasteland due to a pandemic that changed everything.

The new on-set photos come by way of the @TheLastofUsNews Twitter page, showing off a few images of the transformation Calgary has undergone to bring the story of Joel and Ellie to life once more:

Some pointed out that the setup of the above photos means a Certain Scene has already been filmed, a sequence that begins at the start of the first game and lays the groundwork for Joel’s development. We already knew that by a previous image that showed Pedro Pascal, who is playing the lead character Joel, in a car with his daughter and brother. For those that played the games, we know what happens next.

Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann previously confirmed that the upcoming adaptation would feature original content alongside the already-known game narrative that made the first title a PlayStation instant hit. Hopefully, this will be done in a way that keeps the series feeling familiar while also offering something new that all can enjoy together.

I know it isn’t much, but it’s nice to see it all starting to come together and realized for us to slowly work our way towards the adaptation of the popular game. Hopefully, the progress isn’t haltered by any delays or the pandemic and we can get a trailer or some set photos of the cast! Stay tuned as more information becomes available.

The series stars  Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian) and Bella Ramsey (Game of Thrones) are Jeffrey Pierce (Castle Rock and the Last of Us video games), Murray Bartlett (Nashville), Merle Dandridge, and Con O’Neill (Lord of the Rings: The Return Of The King).

Kantemir Balagov is scheduled to direct the pilot episode for the co-production between PlayStation Productions, Sony Pictures Television, Word Games, The Mighty Mint, and Naughty Dog itself. The Last of Us TV series also has two new directors with Jasmila Žbanić (Aida) and Ali Abbasi (Border), which were both revealed back in May. The pair joins Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin as the team works alongside Naughty Dog for creative direction.
