Deadpool and Wolverine: Deadpool 3 Trailer Released, Officially Titled Deadpool and Wolverine

Marvel Studios has finally released the highly anticipated first trailer for Deadpool 3, and it promises an unforgettable cinematic experience. This movie marks the much-awaited crossover of the R-rated, fourth-wall-breaking hero Deadpool from Fox‘s X-Men Universe into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with Ryan Reynolds reprising his role and bringing along his frenemy Hugh Jackman as Wolverine.

Directed by Shawn Levy, Deadpool 3 takes audiences on a wild ride as Deadpool celebrates his birthday with his found family from the Fox universe, only to be kidnapped by the TVA and personally invited to join the MCU. However, things take a twist, leading Deadpool to face unexpected challenges and engage in action-packed sequences alongside Jackman’s Wolverine.

This marks the ninth on-screen appearance of Jackman as the beloved character from Marvel Comics, and his first portrayal since his apparent retirement from the role after 2017’s Logan. Fans will also witness the reunion of Jackman’s Wolverine and Reynolds’ Deadpool/Wade Wilson since their last appearance together in 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

In addition to Reynolds and Jackman, the movie will feature talented actors such as Emma Corrin from The Crown and Matthew Macfadyen from Succession, as well as familiar faces from the previous Deadpool movies including Rob Delaney (Sugar Bear), Karan Soni (Dopinder), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al), Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), and Stefan Kapicic (Colossus).

The trailer featured a ton of action but also featured some Easter eggs for True Believers. The most obvious is the return of some familiar faces to the film as we noted above as Wade Wilson’s birthday party shows Dopinder, Shatterstar, Colossus, Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Yukio, Blind Al, Peter, and Vanessa in attendance.

We also see very quickly that the film will have a heavy focus on the TVA along with a new TVA agent named Paradox. You also can’t ignore the mysterious bald figure shown in the trailer. Given the ties to Fox and the X-Men, this could very well be Professor Xavier.

We also get glimpses of Patch Wolverine, the 20th Century Fox logo previously seen in the set photos revealed, and PYRO!! Aaron Stanford himself from the X-Men films appears in the trailer.

Lastly, as Deadpool lies on a desert floor, we get a glimpse of a comic which happens to be Secret Wars #5. We already know this phase’s End Game will be Secret Wars and the comic features a culmination of crossovers between fractured timelines.

The important thing to note here is that this particular issue is heavily focused on Doctor Doom, who created this mashup of timelines, and how he did it. With much talk about the X-Men and Doctor Doom possibly making his MCU appearance, this could be a bit of a confirmation leaning toward this being possible.
