Netflix Reveals First Trailer for Fantasy Film Damsel
Netflix‘s upcoming fantasy action flick, Damsel, has recently released its first official trailer. The film stars Millie Bobby Brown, known for her role in Stranger Things, as the young Princess Elodie. Elodie finds herself in a precarious situation when she realizes that her arranged marriage is not as idyllic as she imagined.
Instead, her husband and his family have brought her to their home for sinister purposes. With a debt to an ancient dragon, Elodie’s new relatives plan to sacrifice her as payment. Alone and facing danger, she must rely on herself to survive. The trailer showcases Elodie’s daring dance with the dragon, navigating a dark maze while evading the creature’s fiery attacks.
Joining Brown in the cast are Angela Bassett and Robin Wright, who portray Lady Bayford and Queen Isabelle respectively. The film also features Nick Robinson as Prince Henry, Elodie’s betrothed, Ray Winstone as the King, Brooke Carter as Prince Henry’s sister, and Ricky Guillart as Sir Oded. The ensemble cast also includes Saif Mohsen, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Elmano Sancho, Sam Sharma, Sonya Nisa, and Erickson Santos Gomes.
Directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, known for his work on 28 Weeks Later from a screenplay penned by Dan Mazeau, with Brown and Mazeau also serving as executive producers alongside Mark Bomback, Robert Brown, and Sue Baden-Powell.
Netflix viewers can anticipate an epic clash of kingdoms as Elodie rises to the challenge and charts her own destiny when the film premieres exclusively on the streaming platform in 2024. Check out the trailer below:
