Avatar: The Last Airbender – Azula in the Spirit Temple Presents A New Chapter as Azula Continues to Bring the Heat to Zuko
Dark Horse Books is partnering again with Avatar Studios to bring readers a new story from the Avatar universe. The award-winning team of Faith Erin Hicks, Peter Wartman, and Adele Matera are giving fans a story about Zuko’s hot-headed sister, Azula in Avatar: The Last Airbender – Azula in the Spirit Temple. As she continues her plots against her brother and the Fire Nation she finds herself lost in a forest temple where she is confronted by her past and wrestles with the idea of redemption.
Dark Horse‘s description of Azula in the Spirit Temple reads:
“In this story: Azula continues her destabilization campaign against the Fire Nation and her brother, Fire Lord Zuko. But after a failed attack on her latest target, Azula finds herself in a mysterious forest temple inhabited by a solitary monk. What first seems like a place to safely pass the night is quickly revealed to be something horrifyingly different. Azula is forced to confront her past and will finally face her chance at redemption…but will she take it?”
Avatar: The Last Airbender has a long and storied history since the beloved animated series premiered and saw its end. Even after we see the new Avatar, Korra sees their story fulfilled, the universe has expanded exponentially for years through graphic novels and comic book series. As Avatar Studios gears up to bring fans brand-new content in the coming years with animated series and films planned, now is the time to re-enter this universe again and become familiar with your favorite characters as they embark on different journeys and see gaps in previous stories filled.
Azula in the Spirit Temple will be available everywhere books are sold on September 26, 2023, and at your favorite local comic shop on September 27, 2023.
