Fede Alvarez’s Alien: Romulus Unveils Its First Trailer
The first trailer for director/co-writer Fede Alvarez‘s Alien: Romulus has been released, offering a brief one-minute glimpse into the upcoming standalone film. The trailer showcases a bloody space station, a group of Facehuggers, and concludes with a quick glimpse of a Xenomorph.
Additionally, it introduces star Cailee Spaeny, who is set to navigate the challenges of unwelcome space guests in a manner reminiscent of Sigourney Weaver‘s iconic portrayal.
Originally revealed in March 2022 with director Álvarez at the helm, the film is reported to be a largely unconnected entry in the Alien series and has garnered the involvement of producer Ridley Scott. Set between the events of Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986), the plot remains somewhat enigmatic, with Disney‘s 20th Century Studios releasing a vague synopsis last year.

“In this ninth entry in the immensely popular and enduring film series, a group of young people on a distant world find themselves in a confrontation with the most terrifying life form in the universe.”
Joining Cailee Spaeny in the cast are David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Isabela Merced, Spike Fearn, and Aileen Wu, promising an ensemble of talent for this much-anticipated addition to the Alien franchise.
Alien: Romulus arrives in theaters on August 16th, 2024. Check out the trailer and poster below:
