Exclusive Interview: Celebrating 20 Years of Winx Club with Valeria Gulli
As Winx Club celebrates its 20th anniversary, fans are in for a year of magical surprises and exciting events. We sat down with Valeria Gulli, the International Marketing Manager at Rainbow, to discuss the celebrations, fan involvement, and the future of the beloved series.
Geek Network: How does the team plan to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Winx Club, and are there any special events or collaborations in the works for fans?
Valeria Gulli: While I can’t disclose all the details to avoid spoiling the surprises, I can tell you we’re planning a whole year of celebrations! We want to honor our amazing fanbase—after all, it’s thanks to them that our fairies are celebrating this incredible milestone. The biggest event will be the Official Winx Club 20th Birthday Party in Rimini on August 31st. The entire town will be buzzing with activities, surprises, and special content for both new and long-time fans. Everyone is invited, so don’t miss it!
GN: How does the team plan to involve fans in the celebration, and are there any opportunities for fan participation or contributions during the 20th-anniversary events?
Valeria Gulli: We’re thrilled to involve the community in many ways. We’ve already launched the Winx Avatar Creator, which lets fans create their own fairy persona with a variety of customization options. It’s been a big hit! You can also find 20th-anniversary stickers and magic powers filters on Instagram and TikTok to spice up your content. Expect more collaborations with content creators and influencers, along with a variety of social media contests. For example, we recently held a contest called “Win Coachella with Winx Club.” We’re planning to attend major comic fairs and events in different countries, giving fans around the world the chance to join the celebration.

GN: With the entertainment industry constantly evolving, how does the team envision the future of Winx Club beyond the 20th anniversary?
Valeria Gulli: The Winx Club has changed a lot over the past 20 years, but its core values of empowerment, inclusion, and multi-ethnicity have always remained central. The brand has expanded from a TV series to a global phenomenon, with musicals, movies, and live shows. Going forward, we’re committed to keeping the Winx Club in step with the times while reinventing it to stay relevant.
One of the most anticipated projects on the horizon is the Winx Club reboot, which is currently in production. It features our beloved characters in a brand-new CGI look, with fresh graphics and animation. We believe it will capture the hearts of both old and new fans alike.

GN: Are there any limited edition or exclusive products planned for the 20th anniversary, and if so, what can fans look forward to?
Valeria Gulli: Absolutely! We’ve collaborated with top brands to develop a range of 20th-anniversary products and gadgets. From apparel to makeup to jewelry, we’ve got it all. The Dutch fashion designer Jimmy Paul has created a capsule collection of co-branded apparel and accessories, while ColourPop is launching a cosmetics line inspired by the Winx Club. There’s also a special collaboration with Swiss artist Boris Dondè, who is creating 36 unique pieces with gold and silver sheets, diamonds, and crystal powders. These are just a few examples—fans can expect much more in the coming months.
GN: Looking back at the journey of Winx Club, can you highlight some key moments or memories from the past 20 years that the team finds particularly special or impactful?
Valeria Gulli: One of our most special memories is seeing the love for the Winx Club grow from its early days in Italy to its international success, especially after it launched on Nickelodeon in the United States. The dedication and enthusiasm of our fanbase have been incredible. We cherish the moments when we engage with fans who have been following the brand since 2004. These interactions, whether at comic fairs or world reunions, are truly the best memories for our team. They’re a constant reminder of why we do what we do.
