The Iron Claw Trailer Shows Zac Efron & Jeremy Allen White Leading the Von Erich Biopic
A24 has released its first trailer for The Iron Claw featuring Zac Efron in the lead role as wrestling legend Kevin Von Erich. Written and directed by Sean Durkin, the movie delves into the true story of the Von Erich brothers, who made waves in the competitive world of professional wrestling during the early 1980s. Under the guidance of their formidable father and coach, Fritz Von Erich, a three-time world champion, the brothers carved a path to greatness.
The trailer provides a glimpse into the struggles and triumphs of the Von Erich family. Efron’s character reflects on the perceived curse that plagued their family from childhood, with his mother seeking solace in God’s protection and his father placing their trust in wrestling. The mantra was simple: by being the toughest and strongest, they believed they could overcome any hardship.
In addition to Efron’s portrayal of Kevin Von Erich, the trailer introduces Jeremy Allen White as Kerry Von Erich, Harris Dickinson as David Von Erich, and Stanley Simons as Mike Von Erich. Lily James also stars as Kevin’s wife, Pam. Each brother pursued professional wrestling, earning multiple impressive titles. Tragically, the family was also struck by sorrow, leading to speculation about the “Von Erich curse.”
