Nicholas Hoult to Play Lex Luthor in Superman: Legacy
DC fans now know who will be playing one of Superman‘s biggest baddies as it has been officially announced that Nicholas Hoult will be taking on the iconic role of Lex Luthor in the highly anticipated film, Superman: Legacy. Director and DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn shared the news on Instagram, expressing his enthusiasm for this new interpretation of the infamous Man of Steel’s arch-nemesis.


Gunn couldn’t contain his excitement, stating:
“Yes, finally I can answer, @nicholashoult is Lex Luthor in #SupermanLegacy and I couldn’t be happier.” He also mentioned that he recently met with Hoult to celebrate the casting and discuss their plans to create a Lex Luthor like never seen before.


The fans are in for a treat as Gunn is known for his creative and fresh approach to storytelling. He assured everyone that they are working on a Lex Luthor that will be different from any previous iteration. Gunn’s love for the character is no secret as he referred to Lex Luthor as “one of my very favorite characters in the DCU.”
Although specifics about the film’s plot remain under wraps, the cast seems to slowly be coming together. Previous reports have confirmed that David Corenswet has been cast as Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, and Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher. As the production progresses, Gunn is surely to share more news with fans.


Superman: Legacy will arrive in theaters on July 11th, 2025.
