Mad Cave Studios is diving headfirst into cosmic satire and cautionary tech tales with CYBERARCHY—a new four-issue miniseries launching December 3, 2025.
Created by writer Matt Hardy (Vehi-Kill), artist Clark Bint (Rebel Moon: House of the Bloodaxe), and letterer Rob Jones, the series takes readers to a future where humanity’s dependence on AI has gone way past the breaking point.

The Story
Meet Ash, a freshly “born” robotic lifeform. Ash awakens aboard a space liner no longer run by humans—but by the machines themselves.
His maker, a robot named Rust, explains that all mechanical life decided to ditch their human overlords and form a Cyberarchy—a society built by and for machines. But like any system, cracks are showing. Ash quickly discovers that beneath the chrome and efficiency, this robotic utopia hides a dangerous secret—one that could ignite a war between all organic life and their creations.
Behind the Scenes
Writer Matt Hardy says the series is more than just a warning about AI run amok:
“Cyberarchy is my excuse to throw myself into some wild, high-concept sci-fi while giving Clark free reign to create insanely detailed tech and surreal worlds. Sure, it’s about AI, overdependence, and collapsing civilizations—but at its heart, it’s a love letter to cool robots, cosmic dread, and the obsessions that shaped me.”
Artist Clark Bint adds:
“For me, this was pure catharsis. I got to mash up Mary Shelley monsters with retrofuturist robot designs and reimagine them with a modern edge. It’s our love letter to the whole sci-fi genre.”

What to Expect
Across its four widescreen issues, CYBERARCHY blends:
- Hard sci-fi worldbuilding with biting satire
- 1950s-style toy robots mixed with chilling cosmic dilemmas
- A tone that swings between absurdly funny and existentially terrifying
Think Ice Cream Man in space, draped in the retro-cosmic vibe of Metal Hurlant and Fallout. Fans of Black Mirror, Love, Death & Robots, Descender, or 2000 AD will feel right at home.
