Mac Sabbath and The Darts: A Night of Mac-tastic Rock [Interview]

Geek Network recently ventured to the Rialto in Tucson, AZ, to experience another mesmerizing performance by one of their favorites, Mac Sabbath. This time, they were joined by the all-grrrrl rock group, The Darts.

The Darts: Garagerock Noise and Giant Slumber-Parties

Formed in 2016, The Darts set out with the singular goal of uniting four women to create exceptional garagerock noise, explore the world, and revel in nightly giant slumber-party vibes.

In their first year, The Darts self-produced two EPs within six months, followed by a vinyl release. They have since been touring across the U.S. and gracing the stages of numerous festivals. Notably, they’ve garnered praise from renowned figures such as author Stephen King, and punk legends like Jello Biafra and Blag Dahlia.

Mac Sabbath: The Masters of “Drive Thru Metal”

Hailing from Los Angeles, California, Mac Sabbath is a heavy metal tribute band that emerged in 2014. Dubbed the pioneers of “Drive Thru Metal,” the band humorously parodies the style of the heavy metal group Black Sabbath, infusing their lyricism and imagery with fast food motifs.

Fronted by the enigmatic personalities of Ronald Osbourne, Slayer MacCheeze, Grimalice, and Catburglar, the band has been serving up heavy metal delights for quite some time.

What sets Mac Sabbath apart is their commitment to anonymity, with all members maintaining secrecy behind their characters and exclusively communicating through their manager, Mike Odd, who also serves as the lead singer of the Los Angeles hard rock band Rosemary’s Billygoat.

Geek Network had the privilege of conducting a backstage interview with Mike Odd of Mac Sabbath and The DartsNicole Laurenne. The full interview can be savored below.
