Fanhome Will Unveil Lifelike E.T. Build-Up Model At NYCC
Fanhome, the leader in subscription-based collections and models, will be unveiling a lifelike E.T. build-up model at the New York Comic Con. This special display pays tribute to the iconic character from the Oscar-winning 1982 film E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial directed by Steven Spielberg.
The officially licensed E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial model by Fanhome is a replica that stands over 2 feet tall. It captures the lifelike realism of the beloved character (Skittles not included) with the guidance of Carlo Rambaldi‘s family, the talented Italian designer who brought E.T. to life in the original film. Constructed with meticulous attention to detail, this model is composed of metal and ABS plastic parts, with the hope of making assembly easy with step-by-step instructions.

Once assembled, the figure features articulated arms and an extendable head, just like in the movie. LED capabilities allow for a light-up index finger and “heart light,” enhancing E.T.’s appearance. The model also includes moveable eyes and facial expressions, capturing the friendly face and big eyes that charmed fans of the film. Additionally, touchless sensors embedded in the model and a remote control can activate audio features that recreate several of E.T.‘s memorable quotes from the film.
Throughout the build, builders will receive a special full-color monthly magazine accompanying each month’s shipment of components. This magazine provides insights into the conception of E.T. and shares behind-the-scenes facts and little-known details about the film. Readers will learn about Rambaldi’s inspirations, including the role his pet cat played in shaping E.T.’s appearance. They will also discover more about director, Steven Spielberg. The magazine features commentary, accompanied by rarely-seen production designs and photographs that document the evolution of the movie.

The unveiling of this lifelike E.T. build-up model at NYCC will bring the nostalgic charm of the beloved character to the biggest convention of the year. If you are at NYCC, be sure to visit Fanhome and revisit the magical world of E.T.
