Nintendo announced that Super Nintendo World was going to be making its way to the U.S. as part of Universal Studios Hollywood. The theme park launched last year on Universal Studios Japan and features tons of attractions inspired by the popular Nintendo franchise, Super Mario.
The Japanese attraction currently features many Super Mario-inspired attraction that includes Warp Pipes, Mushroom Kingdom, Goombas, and more. The park also features shops that carry exclusive Nintendo merchandise and restaurants that offer themed meals such as Power Star-shaped rice. You can expect to see some or maybe all of these experiences cross over to the U.S. next year when Universal Studios Hollywood opens its Super Mario World section.
Having first appeared in Donkey Kong as “Jumpman,” the 1981 arcade game gave life to one of the most iconic Nintendo characters and possibly one of the most iconic video game characters, period.
“Jumpman”
Super Mario has since leaped into many different iterations and entries of his own with his own feature game releasing in 1983, and the franchise officially launching in 1985 with Super Mario Bros.We have since seen animated entries, crossovers, and even graphic novels expand this universe and for the first time in the U.S., fans will get to live it.
There is no current opening date for the new section at Universal Studios Hollywood but Super Mario merchandise is soon going to be available.
