PS5 DualSense Haptics For Stealthy Players Teased by Horizon Forbidden West Studio Director

”If you want to take a stealth approach to a combat situation and you dive into long grass, you can feel those long grass leaves,” Smets teased. It might sound small, but anybody who has played the first game can tell you that hiding in tall grass is a key part of the robo-dino takedown process. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to get the full grass rustling experience – but now with post-apocalyptic Californian grasses, and maybe even seaweed.

Horizon Forbidden West

Horizon Forbidden West is the sequel to the 2016 hit game Horizon Zero Dawn from Guerilla Games. The game is set to release on PS4 and PS5, but Guerilla Games director spoke to Wired about a special focus on the PS5 that players will be able to look forward to with the DualSense’s haptic feedback feature:

The haptic feedback on the PS5 DualSense has been a very impressive feature so far. I particularly enjoyed the many different senses that it brought to my experience playing Spider-Man: Miles Morales. That won’t be the only plus for playing the game on PS5, there’s also the additional internal power of the PS5 that will offer improved visuals and almost non-existent loading screens.

Sony also confirmed to Wired that Horizon Forbidden West is still set to arrive this year, but did not give us a release date. If you would like to catch up on Aloy’s adventures, you can play Horizon Zero Dawn on PS4, PS5 and as of 2020, PC as well.
