Marvel Announces Giant-Size Hulk One-Shot Smashing Its Way To Readers In 2024

Marvel Comics is bringing back the Giant-Size comics in 2024 which will bring more monumental and earth-shaking stories than ever before. These new Giant-Size issues are honoring the 50th anniversary of the epic Giant-Size storytelling of the 1970s. Each month, these issues will feature pivotal moments, new first appearances, and events that will ripple through the Marvel Univers.

Following the releases of Giant-Size Spider-Man #1 in January, Giant-Size Fantastic Four #1 in February, and Giant-Size Spider-Gwen #1 in March, be prepared for an even larger Giant-Sized issue by Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Andrea Broccardo when they smash into comic shops with Giant-Size Hulk #1 in April.

This giant-size issue will fit perfectly with Johnson’s horror-fueled current run of Incredible Hulk, where Bruce Banner is on a soul-crushing journey against supernatural forces. Get ready for a nonstop fight as the Jade Giant faces off against a terrifying new foe named Patchwork Jack, all happening amidst an explosive train ride!

Riding the rails is no easy task, especially for the Incredible Hulk, especially when something or someone has been stolen from him by a gruesome new threat with evil intentions. Make way for the HULK!

Johnson expressed his intentions for the series, saying:

“The North Star I’ve been following on Incredible Hulk is to make EVERY ISSUE a horror and action showcase for the rockstar artists I’ve been so fortunate to work with.” He promises new lore, new monsters, fan-favorite guest appearances, jaw-dropping fights, and incredible transformations that Hulk has ever experienced.

Johnson wants this run to be unforgettable, and when the editors asked for a GIANT-SIZE INCREDIBLE HULK one-shot, he knew it had to be even more intense.

The story in Giant-Size Hulk #1 has been in the back of Johnson’s mind since he started writing the series, waiting for the right moment to be told. It truly encapsulates the horror-driven direction of the book and features haunting and explosive visuals. Readers can also look forward to the first-ever appearance of a horrifying new character named Patchwork Jack. Johnson assures Hulk fans that they won’t want to miss this issue!

Just like all the GIANT-SIZE installments next year, Giant-Size Hulk #1 will have a cover by artist Bryan Hitch and will also include a reprint of a classic adventure of the Incredible Hulk, specifically Incredible Hulk #372. This tale, part of Peter David and Dale Keown‘s character-defining run, features high-speed action and heartrending drama, and is a Hulk story for the ages!
