Dan Harmon Developing STRANGE PLANET Animated Project for Apple TV+.

Strange Planet

Dan Harmon’s upcoming animated project Strange Planet has been given a straight-to-series order by Apple TV+. Harmon created the series with Nathan Pyle, who created the webcomic and graphic novels of the same name. Amalia Levari is set to serve as showrunner.

The series will tell the “profound and heartfelt stories about beings on a distant planet not unlike our own.” The stories feature “big-eyed, bright blue aliens from a planet that shares a lot in common with Earth. The aliens sunbathe and sneeze but describe these actions with phrases like ‘sun damage’ and ‘face fluid explosions’.”

The series is produced by Apple Studios and animation studio and production house ShadowMachine (Bojack Horseman). Alex Bulkley and Corey Campodonico executive produce for ShadowMachine. Steve Levy and Taylor Alexy Pyle also serve as executive producers on the project.

I know the comics have a huge fanbase and they truly are some of the funniest things to come across on social media. With Harmon attached, this could be a serious hit.
